Area II Opt-in and Opt-out Service Practices
AGEHR Area II distributes its primary communication services through the
World Wide Web via the Internet. As a result, the organization has adopted a
number of practices and processes to promote communication whilst not inducing significan nor
unwanted communication by its membership. This adoption is manifest in the following:
1) AGEHR Area II, Inc. complies with the elements promulgated in the the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003
(15 U.S.C. 7701, et seq., Public Law No. 108-187, was S.877 of the 108th United States
Congress), signed into law by President George W. Bush on December 16, 2003. This law
requires that organizations communicating with their constituencies manage those communications
in a responsible and consistent fashion. Additionally, the law requires that such
organizations offer electronic mechanisms to Opt-in (become a member) or Opt-out (cease membership)
in order to cause communications to cease at the subscribers request.
2) AGEHR Area II, Inc. elects not to distribute, sell, loan, or otherwise make available to any third party
any assets that would thwart the effort of the organization to comply with the "CAN-SPAM" act.
This includes restrictions on release of emails, mail addresses and phone numbers, regardless of whether
they can be obtained by open access in the public domain. These restrictions apply to all
users of the data held and can only be released upon a valid legal request by a governmental jurisdiction.
3) Members of our services will, from time to time, be afforded a reminder of their
opportunity to continue, renew, or reinstate their desired decisions, but not more
than once per year in order to limit the amount of notification traffic. Users will also
be afforded the opportunity to completely "Opt-out" of communications from AGEHR Area II
thereby suspending all communication pending receipt of a written request to reinstate communication services.
