Handbell Insurance:

Note: The following information is provided "as is" and is not intended as any warranty, endorsement or sponsorship of the information content provided herewith by AGEHR Area II. Each individual/organization must apply their own 'due dillegence' to determine suitability of the information provided.

AGEHR Insurance Coverage for Massed Ringing Events
All bells that we take in loan for classroom use and repertoire readings are covered by a national AGEHR insurance policy. This means that if something goes awry in a classroom with a bell, and it can be proven that "we did it," the policy will cover the loss of ringing equipment.

HOWEVER, this policy does NOT apply to sets of bells in the massed ringing arena. This is where each church, school, or individual must carry what is called "marine" insurance on these instruments. This term refers to the fact that you will be traveling with your bells and chimes, and they will not be housed in your school, church, or home.
Finding "Marine" Insurance Coverage for Your Instruments
A "Google" search on "musical instrument insurance" brings up many web resources, but as of 5/1/2010, the first four listings were:

Clarion Associates, Inc.
The Music Teachers National Association announced that Clarion Associates, Inc. will now provide music instrument insurance to all MTNA member for 40% off their usual premiums. For details contact 1-800-Vivaldi. [Note:This is not an endorsement by Area II.]
