Resource Lending Library

Area II maintains the Resource Lending Library for instructional purposes and as a service to its members.

Lending Library Rules

  1. The rental period is for two weeks only.
  2. Videos need to be rewound before being returned.
  3. The rental fee is $2.50 per item.
  4. A deposit fee of $25 per rental item must accompany the order. This separate check will be returned to you upon your return of the item(s) rented.
  5. There is a shipping/handling charge of $4.00 for the first item, and $1.00 for each additional item rented.
  6. The copying of videos is illegal and an infringement of copyright laws.

    A program of instruction for the beginning handbell director and ringer including handbell techniques, mechanism of handbells, equipment needs, and bell assignments.

  2. Developing Skills for Solo and Ensemble Ringing (48 min)
    Nancy Jessup and Debra Calkins demonstrate skills and procedures for the novice solo ringer.

  3. Songs for the Solo Ringer (25 min)
    Christine Anderson performs selected repertoire without interruption. Daniel Kramlich is her accompanist.

  4. Putting the Ring into the Bronze (13 min) Schulmerich
    This explains the casting, tuning, and finishing of handbells, carillons and tower bells.

  5. What They See Is What You Get (80 min)
    This features conducting instruction by Rodney Eichenberger.

  6. The Masteringers Festival 1988 (63 min)
    Producted by WLVT-TV, this tape is a recording of an Allentown, PA handbell festival conducted by Don Allured. It includes both massed and solo choir selections.

  7. Choirchimes: Musical Instruments for All Ages (33 min) Malmark, Inc.
    This video, by Dr. Paul Rosene, is an introduction to Choirchimes in a variety of settings.

  8. Sound Advice from Malmark (20 min) Malmark, Inc.
    This tape is for owners of Malmark bells who would like instruction on the care and maintenance of their handbells.

  9. Christine D. Anderson in Concert (48 min) Hope Publishing
    Seventeen complete hymns and songs; all arrangements published. Inspirational, with brilliant artistry.

  10. Ringing in Small Ensembles (33 min)
    As Michael Keller's companion to his text on this subject, the video demonstrates the techniques and ideas presented in the text.

  11. How to Approach and Teach a Piece of Handbell Music (54 min)
    A production of the AGEHR Resource Committee narrated by Karl Zinsmeister. The handbell director is introduced to the process used to teach a choir a new composition. The tape uses Michael Keller's "Toccata Festiva" (AGEHR AG45042) as the teaching selection.

  12. 1987 National Handbell Festival, Minneapolis, MN (16 min)
    If you've never been to a festival or you want to show your choir what a festival involves, this tape will give you an overview of what goes on.

  13. Tempo Setters (various lengths) AGEHR

    Solo ringer Erin Downey prepares her arrangement of "The All-American Hometown Band." Erin discusses and demonstrates various techniques along with giving tips on preparation, memorization, and overall appearance for the solo ringer.
