WAKE UP! The February issue of Twicetolled Tales (TTT) is now up on our site!
Thanks to a great number of people, there are lots of opportunities and much information
that you should check out. Our new Chair, Jackie Anderson, has risen to the challenge of the
position and has motivated a whole raft of ringing ventures to kick off the first quarter of
2010. And she tells the editors that there are some other good things to follow, particularly
our Vacation Vibration offerings that you will learn more about soon! So take a moment to read the
ttt and share the information with your friend!

Composition Contest Window Still Open through May 15th!
The Area 2 Board wants to remind all composers that the current Composition Contest window
is still open through May 1, 2010. As a reminder, the Young Ringers category prize has been raised
from $750 to $1000.
The submission method has also been expanded to allow submitters to send in their entry either by mail
or electronically via the Internet. With the Internet option, you can take advantage of working on your submission
all the way through the end of the day on May 1. So fret no more in the struggle to close up the submission and
getting it in on time! You now are afforded an additional day or two to fine tune your creation.

Do We Make a Difference? You Bet We Do!
Sometime, after spending so much of our personal time, effort and yes – money, we wonder
whether the work we have done has had any impact at all. Certainly, that is one
factor that causes each of us to hesitate when asked to contribute to
Area 2 Board positions and activities. But if you think that way, that there
is little return for the effort, that no one really cares, then we challenge you to think again.
For the past five years, Area 2 has been sponsoring efforts to make use of handchimes in Romania.
This past summer, members of Area 2 re-visited Romania and this past Christmas season, we
were rewarded with a video of the choir at the Brad Christian Center practicing with the chimes.
You can see this video clip by

And the next
time you are called on to help, think about this and say "Yes”. Believe us,
it is all worth it!
