Do We Make a Difference? You Bet We Do!
Sometime, after spending so much of our personal time, effort and yes – money,
we wonder whether the work we have done has had any impact at all. Certainly,
that is one factor that causes each of us to hesitate in urging our choirs to attend
festivals, conferences Read & Ring events. Sometimes, it seems that it is "just too
much work".
But if you think that way, then we challenge you to visit our
photo coverage
of the most recent Oswego events. Sure, you can look at the pictures
and marvel at the venue, spot friends and acquaintences who did attend, and perhaps,
if you bought the CD, listen to the concerts.
But, look again. Look at the faces of the young ringers who could never have attended
had not one or more adults, as directors, drivers, chaperones or just family, taken
the time to nurture them on to a greater calling in musical adventure! Look at the
crazy hats, the laughter in thier eyes. And look at the faces of the adults! But
for that personal efforts, one of these could have been you.
Next time, maybe even this summer at our 2009 Read & Ring, you will say "Yes, I can
make a difference and I will!
Believe us, it is all worth it!
